Where the Press met the Garden — a Swan House Love Story

Some venues carry a feeling before you ever step inside. Swan House is one of them. Tucked into the wooded acres of Atlanta History Center, it holds a quiet grandeur that makes you want to slow down, look closer, and linger a little longer. When the call came to create the full stationery suite for this editorial shoot hosted by Styled Shoots Across America, we knew it was a rare kind of project — the kind where the setting itself becomes part of the design conversation.

From the very beginning, this shoot was conceived as a celebration of considered details. Every creative partner brought something layered and intentional to the table, and we were honored to hold the responsibility of the paper story — the first thing a guest touches, and often the last thing they tuck away as a keepsake.

The Suite: Built for the Estate

The invitation was designed to feel like Swan House itself; refined without being rigid, romantic without being fussy. We anchored the suite in a custom ornamental monogram and paired it with serif typesetting that nods to the estate's classical architecture. The impression of letterpress on handmade, cotton paper brought a texture you could feel, a depth that photography can only begin to capture.

The palette pulled from the gardens: muted mauve, warm ivory, and deep botanical greens. Nothing too saturated. Everything in quiet conversation with the stone columns and cascading greenery that made this venue a dream to design for.

Letterpress isn't just a printing method. It's a commitment: to craft, to permanence, to the idea that some things deserve to be made slowly and with your hands.

Beyond the Invitation: Every Touchpoint, Pressed with Care

A full wedding day is built from moments, and we believe stationery should be woven through each one. For this shoot, we designed and produced the complete paper experience — not just the invitation suite, but everything a guest would encounter from cocktail hour through the final course.

The drink menus were designed for the bar display, elegant little pieces that told the cocktail story for Vivienne and Harrison in our signature scallop oval shape. The dinner menus were duplexed with place card name tags finished with a burgundy tassel — a detail that made each place setting feel like a gift waiting to be opened. And the escort cards, displayed on a warm gold panel in the Swan House garden, carried illustrated botanical motifs that felt grown from the grounds themselves.

The Details that Don't Make the Highlight Reel — but Should

The love letter tucked behind the invitation. The vow card written in longhand. The envelope liner printed with a loose floral that echoes the bride's bouquet. These are the pieces that guests pick up twice, that find their way into frames and keepsake boxes. That is the world we live in at InvitoBella, and this shoot gave us the space to live in it fully.

We sourced vintage postage to finish the outer envelopes — because the way a suite arrives at someone's door is part of the story, too. Every stamp, every hand-addressed line, every wax-sealed flap is a quiet declaration that someone cared deeply about this day before it ever began.

A Note on What Collaboration Looks Like

Editorial shoots like this one are a reminder of what happens when a group of creative people give their full selves to a shared vision. Heather Benge brought the planning precision that made the day flow beautifully. Intrigue Designs and Lush Design Studio built a floral world so lush and layered it made us want to press every bloom. Saskia Valentina photographed it all with the kind of quiet attentiveness that makes you feel like you were there. And the Atlanta History Center's Swan House held everything with the grace it's been holding for nearly a century.

We are proud of this suite in the way you're proud of work that required something from you — not just skill, but attention. The kind of attention that only comes when a project truly matters to you.

If you are a bride or a planner dreaming of a day where every paper detail is made with that same intention, we would love to hear about your vision. Our Heirloom collection was built for moments exactly like this one.
